Taking Golf Course Pictures to New Heights

This week, May 1-7 the Wells Fargo Championship will be held at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, NC. We had the opportunity to capture the beauty and layout of this golf course from up above with our Phantom DJI Drone. Taking golf course photography from the air is a great way to show the layout and terrain of a course.

Photographing an entire golf course in one photo is simply not possible from the ground.

It would take at least two photos of each hole to be able to be able to showcase a course and its layout. With new and improving drone technology, aerial photos can change that problem. With one photo, a drone can capture the entire layout of a golf course, as well as surrounding areas. Individual holes can be focused on as well to provide an aerial view of sand traps, water hazards and the proximity of the green from the tee boxes.

Beautiful overhead shots are the perfect way to showcase a course in one picture. One way to utilize the photos is to make it the first picture seen on a golf course’s website. The views and layout from above are a great way to entice golfers or potential new members to visit your golf course or country club. Posting the photos on social media are also a great way to promote your course, as it is free to use and social media is one of the best marketing tools in today’s technology-focused society.
